About CulinaryProfis
CulinaryProfis is a mixer specialist. Not a general restaurant-supply catalog that happens to stock mixers — a business that sells one category and knows it properly.
Why one category
Most equipment dealers list forty thousand SKUs and understand a few hundred of them. Ask which spiral mixer suits a 300-loaf day and you get a spec sheet read back to you.
We went the other way. We carry eight manufacturers and one family of machines: mixers, and the dough equipment that works alongside them. That narrowness is the point. It means when you call and describe your production, the person on the other end has actually run the machine you are asking about.
Who is behind it
CulinaryProfis was founded by Chef John along with chef partners who spent years buying equipment the hard way — on the strength of a catalog photo and a salesperson's confidence, then living with the result through a few hundred services.
That experience shaped two rules we work by:
- We recommend what the job needs, not what pays best. If a smaller machine will do your volume, we say so. If you are about to buy something that will be undersized in eighteen months, we say that too.
- No paid placement. Brands do not buy their way into our recommendations. The eight we carry are here because they hold up.
The brands we carry
Eight, deliberately:
- Ankarsrum — Swedish-built home kitchen machines, made since 1940. The motor sits in the base and the bowl turns, which is why it handles stiff bread dough that stalls conventional stand mixers.
- Axis — commercial planetary mixers, countertop through floor model.
- OMCAN — broad commercial range across planetary, spiral and meat equipment.
- AccuTemp / Primo — planetary and spiral mixers for production kitchens.
- Sirman — Italian-built spiral dough mixers and food prep.
- BakeMax — bakery equipment, from countertop planetaries to 80-quart floor machines and dough processing.
- Pro-Cut — meat mixers, grinders and butchery equipment.
- Ceado — drink mixers and blending.
How we work
Two ways to buy, depending on what you need.
If it is a home machine or a counter-top unit, buy it here directly. Orders over $200 ship free, most leave in one to two business days and arrive within four to seven.
If it is commercial floor equipment, a multi-unit order, or a whole dough room, request a quote. We come back within one business day with pricing, lead times and freight — and with an honest read on whether the machine you asked about is the right one. Floor models ship by freight and we coordinate the delivery, confirming dock access and doorway width before anything leaves the warehouse.
We work regularly with restaurants, pizzerias, bakeries, delis, hotels and catering operations, and with institutional buyers — schools, hospitals and government foodservice — where purchase orders, W-9s and quotes formatted for budget approval are part of the job.
